About Me

Melisa Ho, MA, BSN, PCA, RN, CDCES
Hello, my name is Melisa Ho and I am the principal counselor at Mercy and Hope Counseling, LLC. I hold a Master’s Degree of Art in Counseling from Western Seminary and a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nursing from Linfield College.
I have over 30 years of experience in nursing care with a focus on diabetes care and education. As a nurse, I have provided both physical care and mental and emotional support to many patients. My patients come from a variety of different cultures, speak many different languages, and face different challenges and barriers.
Based on my professional and personal life experiences, I believe a holistic approach to counseling is the ideal way to help a person reach their maximum potential. In other words, my approach is to address the physical well-being as well as the spiritual, mental, and emotional needs of a person.
Through Mercy and Hope Counseling, I hope to use my knowledge, skills, experience – and maybe even fluency in Cantonese – to serve clients from all backgrounds and cultures. I also seek to serve clients who may encounter specific challenges or barriers (such as culture or language) that often prevent them from getting access to mental health counseling services.
